A MAN has avoided jail after beating a woman at a holiday resort last year.
Shane Pocock was charged with one count of assault by beating after grabbing a woman and throwing her to the floor at Butlin’s Minehead Resort on December 30 last year.
The victim, Sophie Gale, stated Pocock had smashed through the glass window prior to the incident and had frightened her young children.

The 26-year-old, of Station Road in Thatcham, pleaded guilty to the offence at Taunton Magistrates' Court in March this year.
He was sentenced to 140 hours of unpaid work and ordered to complete 40 days of rehabilitation activity.
He was also made subject to a restraining order not to contact the victim or her husband.
There was also compensation ordered to the value of £350, court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114.
