SEVERE delays on the Elizabeth Line can be expected until the end of the day (August 16).
A faulty freight train is causing delays on services between Abbey Wood and Reading, via London Paddington, Slough and Maidenhead.
According to TfL, there are no services between Abbey Wood and Whitechapel, severe delays between Paddington to Heathrow and Reading, and minor delays between Paddington and Whitechapel due to a faulty freight train at Custom House.
National Rail has said a rescue train is being brought from Abbey Wood in an attempt to "couple up and allow the train to be moved at reduced speed".
The following services will be in operation:
- Up to 2 trains an hour between Reading and London Paddington
- Up to 4 trains an hour between Heathrow Airport and London Paddington
Tickets will be accepted on the following services at no additional cost:
- London Underground via any reasonable route
- Local buses between Central London and Heathrow Airport / Abbey Wood
- Southeastern between London Terminals and Abbey Wood
- Docklands Light Railway via any reasonable route
- Great Western Railway between Reading and London Paddington
- Heathrow Express between Heathrow Terminals and London Paddington
- Thameslink between Farringdon and Abbey Wood
