A CHIP shop in Reading town centre remains closed after being damaged in a fire last week (August 7).
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire at Mr. Chip on Oxford Road at 11.22am on August 7.
Crews from Theale, Caversham Road, and Whitley Wood stations found the fire in an extraction unit.
Mr. Chips has announced on its website that the shop will remain closed until August 23.
It said: “Store is temporarily closed after being damaged in a fire. We hope to see you soon!”

Speaking on the day of the fire, Shoppers commended security in Broad Street Mall for their efficient and quick action during the evacuation of the mall. Businesses said that it took around 3 minutes to completely evacuate the building.
The fire was extinguished with two hoses, within one hour and 30 minutes.
According to RBFRS, there were no reports of injuries.
