The following cases were heard at Reading or Slough Magistrates’ Courts.

SHELDON ROSS, 27, of Follows Road, Padworth, Reading, pleaded guilty to two counts of drug driving on October 23 last year. He was disqualified from driving for 22 months and fined £250. There were also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £160.

KAMRAN ZAMAN, 33, of Erleigh Court Gardens, Earley, Reading, pleaded guilty to drug driving on November 25 last year. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £230. There were also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £92.

JOHN MCGUIRE, 43, of Russell Street, Reading, pleaded guilty to stealing two bottles of wine to the value of £58 from Marks and Spencer’s in Reading on February 24 this year. He was given a community order to complete 40 hours of unpaid work, 10 days of rehabilitation activity and to pay £58 in compensation. There was no order for costs.

DANIEL STEWART, 32, of Lon Y Garwa, Caerphilly, pleaded guilty to drink driving in London Road, Newbury on March 1 this year with namely 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was disqualified from driving for 20 months, reduced by 20 weeks, and fined £120. There was also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £48.

PATRYK HAMPEL, 28, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal damage. On December 23, 2021, he damaged a glass pane window to the value of £100. He was given a period of conditional discharge for 12 months and was ordered to pay £100 in compensation. There were also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £22.

NICHOLAS HEAVINGHAM, 33, of Newtown Road, Newbury, pleaded guilty to driving without a licence on February 6 this year as well as failing to stop a vehicle when required to do so by a constable in uniform and using a vehicle without passing a test. He was jailed for 25 weeks, suspended by 24 months. He was also disqualified from driving for 24 months. There was also an order for 19 days of rehabilitation activity to be completed and 200 hours of unpaid work. There were also court costs of £85.

MATTHEW HOLMES, 30, of St Catherines Hill, Mortimer, Reading, indicated guilty to stealing a jacket to the value of £239.98 from Mountain Warehouse in Newbury on February 11 this year. He was given a community order to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and 30 days of rehabilitation activity. There was also an order for 12 months of mental health treatment.

JASKARAN SINGH, 33, of Tongham Road, Aldershot, Hampshire, pleaded guilty to driving without a licence in Slough on February 20 this year as well as without third-party insurance. He also pleaded guilty to wilfully obstructing a constable in the execution of his duty. He was given a community order to complete 40 hours of unpaid work and was disqualified from driving for six months. There were also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114.

JOHN CARTHY, 50, of Hungerford Avenue, Manor Park, Slough, indicated guilty to breaching a non-molestation order by entering an address he was prohibited from entering. He was given a jail sentence of six weeks, suspended by six months. There was also a victim surcharge of £154.
