A popular outdoor lido has received a stunning transformation to include a huge 50-meter swimming pool and areas for all the family.
Located at Northcroft Leisure Centre in Newbury, the new Lido will open by popular demand on Monday, August 21 at 2 pm.
West Berkshire Council has released a sneak peek video on Twitter highlighting some of the lido’s best bits that will be available for members of the public.
Sean McArthur, the site manager at the Northcroft Lido said: "I’m very pleased today to announce that the construction works and the build of the beautiful facilities that you’re going to see today are now complete."

The Lido opening is now fully booked on Monday, but you can book for the rest of the week on the Everyone Active app or on the website: https://t.co/p5Ltms6RWY pic.twitter.com/s2ZGdYNDkg
The main area of the lido consists of the beautiful 50-meter swimming pool with a pergola and seating area for anyone wishing to capture the shade on these warm Summer days.
For those looking to grab an evening swim session, atmospheric lighting has been installed in the seating area and around the new pool which will be switched on at certain times.
West Berkshire Council has also included five multi-colored changing huts for families and individuals as well as poolside showers.
However, the most exciting aspect of the lido is the brand-new slide area for both adults and kids to enjoy.
The site manager said: "There’s a beautiful area for the kids including the mega soaker which fills up and then tips out into the splash pad and just sprays the whole area. So, playing in that facility is going to be really good.
“We can’t wait for you to come inside and use and see these wonderful facilities.”
For those playing in the sun, there will be room for an ice cream kiosk on the raised decking at one side of the lido.
Although the first day is fully booked, people are being encouraged to book a swimming session for the rest of the week and beyond.
