FIRE crews tackled blaze at "large open wood" in the early hours of yesterday morning (August 18).
The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said it received reports of a fire in the open on Waltham Road near Twyford, at 12.53am on Friday, 18 August.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham, Bracknell and Maidenhead fire stations were sent to the scene alongside a Water Carrier and an Officer.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a large wood fire. Firefighters used one hose reel jet, two main jets and two ground monitors to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters were on the scene for approximately four hours and 45 minutes before returning to inspect for hotspots.
