AN Italian restaurant near Reading town has closed its doors months after opening.
San Sicario, of Caversham Road, has "permanently closed", according to a notice on Google.
The restaurant received a one-star rating from the Food Standards Agency in March, which means 'major improvement necessary'.
The Italian restaurant blames "lack of documentation on the day of inspection" for the negative rating.

In response to the one star rating, the restaurant said the "problems were solved on the same day, but it now must wait three months for a new assessment", however the restaurant has now closed down.
It has not been confirmed that the hygiene rating is the reason for its closure.

Our reporter visited the restaurant for a review article and commented on the poor location.
"The busy roundabout outside means the restaurant doesn’t benefit from a nice view of the Italian countryside. Instead, we watched many cars racing along the busy road which took away from the relaxing feel of an authentic Italian restaurant", Megan said.
Despite this, the reporter praised the restaurant's décor and atmosphere.
