THE finishing touches are being added to a pancake shop in Reading as it prepares to open this weekend.

Fluffy Fluffy, at The Village on King Street, is getting ready to open its doors on Saturday, August 26, serving Japanese-style souffle pancakes.

The store has seen a few "hiccups" and the "reveal is not as planned", Hussein Umar said.

Hussein, UK business development lead for Fluffy Fluffy, said the store hopes to open with a 'soft launch' this weekend, with plans for a Grand Opening celebration in September.

Despite the delays, staff at Fluffy Fluffy have been giving away free pancakes to their neighbours at The Village.

The restaurant, which is Fluffy Fluffy's biggest store in the UK, is decorated in a "light and airy, but not clinical" design.

Hussein explained that the Japanese-style souffle pancakes are hand-made to order and take "20 minutes to make as it's not fast food chain".

The menu offers a variety of toppings including Nutella, tiramisu, Biscoff, and creme brûlée.

For the first time Fluffy Fluffy Reading will be serving all-day drip coffee and speciality flavoured gelato.

Hussein said: "We couldn’t be more excited about bringing our third Fluffy Fluffy UK site to Reading."
