A road closure has been put in place in Tilehurst following alleged investigations surrounding a sinkhole on Oaktree Road.
Between Kentwood Hill and the crossroads of Chepstow Road, Reading Borough Council has put in place the closure from Wednesday, August 23, and 4 p.m. on Friday, August 25.
According to Cllr Raj Singh-Kentwood, this is due to a ‘soft spot opening within the carriageway’.
The Chronicle visited the site and found works going on with the section of road that is closed off. Footpaths in the area however are still accessible.
Drivers in the area have been told to access the road from Chepstow Road and Armour Hill.
We have contacted the Reading Borough Council for a statement.
