A man has been sentenced to prison after breaking into a home in Newbury.
Daniel Black, aged 45, of Westfield Road, Thatcham, was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of burglary at Reading Crown Court on Monday, September 18.
At around 3.20pm on August 14, Black broke into an address in Pelican Lane and stole various items before leaving.
Black was arrested the same day and charged on August 15 following a Thames Valley Police investigation.
Investigating officer PC Christopher Tayler, based at Newbury police station, said: “Thames Valley Police is committed to bringing burglars to justice as it is an incredibly invasive crime.
“Daniel Black’s sentencing will hopefully serve a lesson to others who seek to commit burglaries that we will always look to put offenders before the courts.”
