Train services between Reading and Paddington are cancelled or delayed due to an incident on the track.

Emergency services are currently dealing with an incident near Twyford with the lines blocked in both directions.

A spokesman for Great Western Rail said: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Reading and London Paddington, the line is blocked.

"Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes. Disruption is expected until 11:00."

Commuters from Reading heading into London now need to travel via Waterloo. 

Passengers on one of the affected trains have taken to Twitter to share updates.

One said: "I’m on last train that was ahead of incident. Nothing else running from Reading to Paddington."

Another, tweeting GWR directly, praised the driver for their communication, writing: "On a stuck train now, and the driver's keeping us informed - thank you! So helpful."

While one man said: "I am on the train and we hit something. Been stationary ever since."
