A VIOLENT stalker stormed out of his sentencing hearing, telling the judge it was ‘bulls***’ and he didn’t want to hear it.

Thomas Hull, 29, could be seen via video link from HMP Bullingdon banging on the prison door in an attempt to leave halfway through his sentencing on Monday, October 2.

He was being sentenced for one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and stalking involving fear of violence against his ex-partner in Wokingham.

While prosecutor Jonathan Sank summarised the case, Hull tried to leave the hearing twice.

When asked what he was doing by Judge John Ryder, Hull said: “I’m trying to leave. This is bulls***.”

Judge Ryder responded: “If you choose to leave, there is nothing I can do about it, you’re not in this court, but if you choose to leave, the case will continue in your absence.”

Hull sat back down but then left again a few moments later while the victim impact statement was being read out.

He could be heard muttering, “Get me out of here,” before leaving the prison room. The case was then delayed by an hour before Hull returned.

Hull then left again seconds before hearing his final sentence.

The incident comes after national outrage over child killer Lucy Letby's refusal to attend court for the conclusion of her trial.

Under a new Government proposal, defendants could face a longer jail term if they fail to attend their hearing.

Judges will get the power to use ‘reasonable force’ to make sure criminals attend sentencing - either in court or via video link.

While Hull was present, the court heard that he was made subject to a domestic violence prevention order in March this year after hitting his ex-girlfriend.

Despite the order, he still saw the woman frequently before the main incident on June 26 where he put his arm around her neck, pushed his thumbs into her eyes and punched her in the face, bruising her right eye.

Some of the incident was viewed by her three-year-old daughter.

He then sent her multiple messages and calls between June 26 and 28, one message calling her a ‘fat c***’ and wishing ‘she would die’.

A victim impact statement read out by Mr Sank read: “My life has been turned upside down. The impact it has had on my daughter upsets me more than anything.

“She keeps asking me if Tom is coming back to kill me. I feel shameful that I allowed him to manipulate me to stay with him.”

In mitigation, the court heard that Hull suffers from an emotional instability disorder. His barrister also apologised on his behalf for him leaving the hearing.
