Reading Pheonix Choir will be hosting a concert to raise money for Refugee Support Group charity. They will be performing a selection of a cappella songs from many different eras.
The concert will take place at Douai Abbey on Saturday October 21 at 7:30 pm. Tickets will be on sale for £12 and £6 for under 18s.
The music will also include works by Tallis, Wesley, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Bruckner, Elgar, and John Rutter.
There will also be an opportunity to hear excellent new choral pieces by some modern young composers.
All money raised from the concert will be used to support the work of the Refugee Support Group.
The charity is based in Berkshire and provides free advice, mental health support, social activities, and practical help for refugees and asylum seekers.
CEO of Refugee Support Group Nick Harborne said: “We are delighted and honoured that the Reading Phoenix Choir will be singing to support Refugee Support Group (RSG) at this concert.”
He continued: “Refugee Support Group has been supporting such refugees in Berkshire for over 30 years, and we will be so grateful for your support in coming to this concert to hear this wonderful choir.”
