A 22-year-old man has been charged with drug offences in Reading.
Leandro Silva, aged 22, of London Road, Bromley, London, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A, namely cocaine and heroin, and one count of possession of criminal property, at an earlier hearing on August 11 to
Silva was also ordered to forfeit his mountain bike and cash and a destruction order was made for the drugs and phone.
On August 10 at around 4.50pm, Silva was seen by police cycling away from a group of drug users on Francis Street. He was detained on Elgar Road for a section 23 search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Silva was found to be in possession of 33 wraps of class A drugs, namely cocaine and heroin, a mobile phone and a quantity of cash.
Silva was arrested the same day and was charged on 11 August.
Investigating officer, PC Russell Morbey of Reading Stronghold team, said: “Our Stronghold team will proactively and robustly target and prosecute offenders, using both visible and covert activity aimed at disrupting and pursuing offenders involved in the supply of drugs.
“The information from the public around the drug supply offences in Reading plays an important role in developing intelligence into a proactive investigation.

Silva was sentenced to two years and six months’ imprisonment at Reading Crown Court on Friday, October 13.
