Arrangements have been made for the annual remembrance of those who have fought in the British Armed Forces in Newbury and the surrounding area this year.
The Remembrance Sunday Parade & Service will be held in Newbury on Sunday, November 12.
Proceedings will begin with the main parade setting off at 10.30am from Pelican Lane and marching the length of Northbrook Street.
There, marchers will turn into Mansion House Street where the Mayor of Newbury, councillor Nigel Foot, will take the salute prior to continuing to the Market Place where the Remembrance Service will take place.
Following the brief service outdoors, the parade will march past the War Memorial where wreaths will be laid on the way into St Nicolas Church, where an indoor service will be held.
A qualified British Sign Language will provide signs for the deaf and hard of hearing, who have been asked to place themselves in the roadway near to Zizzi (the old Strada restaurant) for viewing of the outdoor service.
Cllr (Liberal Democrats, Newbury Clay Hill) said: “We are grateful that so many veterans, service personnel, uniformed organisations, youth groups, voluntary organisations and members of the public take part and attend the Newbury Remembrance Parade and Service each year.
“Our community comes together at this time to remember those who have given their lives in the service of the country. It is a poignant occasion, and I am honoured to be taking the salute on behalf of our town."
