Ever wondered what some of the busiest streets in Reading would look like without cars, buses, or any other vehicles?
With help from AI, The Chronicle has created a number of sliders to show what Reading's roads would look like pedestrianised. Enjoy!
St Mary's Butts
Here AI has replaced St Mary's Butts, a busy bus route with many cars passing through, with cobbled streets that the public can walk down.
It has also added a splash of colour through green and yellow flowery bushes.
Friar Street
Well-known for its bars, pubs, and clubs, AI has given Friar Street a colourful makeover.
Brightly coloured potted flowers now adorn each side of the pedestrianised road. AI has also added pruned trees in wooden basins.
Bridge Street
Home to The Reading Chronicle, AI has transformed the busy bus route that is Bridge Street into a pleasant cobbled walkway.
Oxford Road
The once dreary-looking Oxford Road now, thanks to AI, sports a meadow of summery flowers.
AI has also added a narrow path with bicycles parked on one side.
Southampton Street
The busy residential Southampton Street is now completely pedestrianised with cobbled streets and beautiful greenery.
AI has also lengthened Southampton Street into a slight hill.
