A MAN is due to stand trial for threatening someone with a bladed article in Reading.
Fakhar Butt, 44, is accused of threatening a person with a bladed article at Butt Convenience Store in Prince of Wales Avenue, Tilehurst on May 7 this year.
The 44-year-old appeared at Reading Crown Court on Friday (November 10) where the case management hearing was incorrectly listed for sentencing.

A lawyer from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) stated that there is a possibility the CPS will accept the charge of simple possession instead of a bladed article instead of threatening someone with a bladed article.
However, regardless of the charge, there is still to be a trial at the same court next year.
The court heard that the defence will be relying on TikTok videos throughout the trial. It is unknown what the content of the videos are.
Butt, of Taff Way, Tilehurst, will be due back for trial on February 10, 2024.

He appeared in the dock wearing a grey checkered suit and a pink t-shirt. An interpreter was also present in court to translate the hearing for Butt.
He will remain on unconditional bail until his trial date.
