Dramatic footage shows cars and buses wading through pools of water in a flooded-out road in Caversham.
Hilary Jane Smart shared a video of vehicles passing through Caversham Park Road which was seen completely flooded yesterday (Monday, November 13).
The incident was reported to the Local Democracy Reporting Service and Reading Borough Council which has since closed the road.
A spokesperson for the council said: “The Council is aware of this localised flooding incident and has attended the site to investigate and clear the highway gullies and connections.
“We have asked Thames Water to inspect and clear their main surface water sewers that our gullies connect into, and are confident that this combined effort will resolve this issue.
“In the meantime the decision has been taken to temporarily close the road as a safety measure.”
The roadworks website one.network states that the road will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, November 15) as well.
