Berkshire's newest film and television studios have announced the completion date for the final stage of construction.

Based near Reading, Shinfield Studios is a state-of-the-art facility with 13 soundstages already available for TV and production companies.

They have now announced that as of early 2024, all 18 studios will be fully operational after over two and a half years of construction.

This includes two of the largest climate-controlled studios in the UK at 43,000 sq. ft each with a nine-acre backlot for filming.

Already, the studios have welcomed some of the world's largest media companies including Disney, Sony, and a variety of US streamers and production companies.

Nick Smith, Joint Managing Director, Shinfield Studios said: “Shinfield Studios now looks just like the plans we put to paper several years ago. Not only does it feel like a slice of Hollywood in Berkshire, it also offers producers everything that we promised.

“That’s to say a modern studio facility that has been carefully designed from the ground-up to meet all the needs of the most ambitious film and HETV productions. We really have considered every detail.”

Due to its proximity to London, Berkshire has always been a popular filming location for some of the biggest films and TV shows.

The Joint Managing Director of Shinfield Studios, Ian Johnson said: “We had always planned for Shinfield Studios to make a significant contribution to both the UK creative industry and the community in Berkshire.

The studio, which US-based company Shadowbox Studios owns has used a range of environmentally conscious measures including minimising waste, sourcing local resources where possible, and reducing transportation of materials.

Shadowbox is an industry-leading independent film and television studio platform that develops, owns, and operates purpose-built soundstage facilities.
