A family has been raising money after Reading mother of two Kirsten Dungan tragically died on Christmas day.
Mrs Dungan, 42, of Sonning Common, was a former beautician with two children, Kian who is 13 years old, and Sienna who is 10.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up by Karis Hicks to pay for her sister's funeral.
“We’re trying to give her a nice send-off for her children,” she said. “All funds will go towards funeral costs and any left will go to a mental health charity.”
Having been set up only one week prior, the fundraiser has gathered almost £4,000 in memory of Kirsten, just a few hundred pounds away from its target.
The fundraising page describes that Kirsten was battling with her mental health and sadly took her own life this Christmas.
“We set it up to show the kids that she was loved,” Ms Hicks said. “When people suffer from bad mental health they may not think they are loved, but she was.”
When asked what Mrs Dungan was like, both her mother and sister said she was caring, she loved her kids, and that she couldn’t stop talking.
“She adored horses and was always going riding with her daughter,” Ms Hicks said.
