A new model of a popular Reading department store has recently been finished.
The Duke Street Branch was opened in 1898 and sold general household items, together with a sports department and stationery.
Expert on all things Jacksons, Thomas Macey explained how both stores coexisted opposite each other for some time.
"For a time both shops were known as Jacksons Corners," he said. "It was closed in 1928 and the building was demolished in the 1980s.
"The model I'd based on surviving photographs in the archives and based on the date of 1904."
The new Jacksons Corner model was commissioned by Mr Macey and built by Richard Ellis of MONK'S GATE MODELS.
After the photos of the new model were posted to social media, a number of residents congratulated Mr Macey on such a delightful addition to the already existing Jacksons' models.
One commenter said "Amazing Model Top notch!" whilst another added "Fantastic work Thomas."
The other Jackson's models are a version of Jacksons Corner in 1904 and the company's boot and shoe department at 8 High Street Reading.
"Hopefully they will return to the Reading Museum for another exhibition soon," Mr Macey said.
"Next year 2025 would have been Jacksons 150th anniversary, so I am planning a display for that year hopefully."
