A popular local brewery is set to its open first bar in the heart of Reading town centre.

Siren Craft Brewery has gone from strength to strength since its foundation in Berkshire in June 2012.

Based out of the Hogwood Industrial Estate in Finchampstead, it has a taproom and has become a popular supplier of beer for pubs throughout Reading.

The brewery took over the George & Dragon pub in Swallowfield in October 2021.

Now it is set to open its first ever bar in Reading.

The ‘Siren City Bar’ will occupy a ground floor unit of the new Ebb & Flow apartment building in Friar Street, located close next to Sainsbury’s.

The brewery is set to sell its beers, show sports and have live music at the bar.

Activities will stretch on longer on the weekend, with the premises planned to close at half past midnight from Friday to Sunday, and 11pm from Monday to Thursday.

In preparation for its opening, the people who will take charge of the bar have submitted a licensing application to Reading Borough Council.

They have applied to sell alcohol from 10am to midnight Friday to Sunday, and 10am to 11pm Monday to Thursday. 

For late night refreshment such as food and soft drinks, they want to sell that from 11pm to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Siren City Bar team want to play recorded music from 10am to 11pm Monday to Thursday, 10am to 12.30am on Fridays and Saturdays, and 10am to midnight on Sundays.

Finally, they want to have live music from 10am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and 10am to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
