The new Primark store in Newbury is confirmed to open its doors in 2025.
The bargain clothing store will occupy a split of the former Debenhams store at Parkway Shopping Centre, Newbury.
The proposed shop extends to c 35,000 sq ft over ground and first floors, bringing Primark’s much-loved value clothing, beauty and homewares to shoppers.
abrdn will be carrying out division works and aims to hand the unit over to Primark at the end of 2024 with a view to Primark fitting out and opening in 2025.
The new store is expected to create around 100 jobs for the local community.
David Stewart Fund manager commented: “We are delighted that Primark will be opening a new store in Newbury. They are a terrific addition to the existing tenant mix and will restore vitality to the eastern end of the mall.”
Primark Director of Sales Conor Walsh added: “After some speculation, we are excited to confirm that we will be opening a new store in Newbury next year, creating new jobs and bringing great, affordable fashion to local shoppers. We’re looking forward to becoming a part of the local community.”
Local shoppers looking to get their Primark fix in the meantime can continue to visit the nearby Reading or Basingstoke stores.
