A man who is fighting for his life in hospital after he was stabbed in Reading’s Walkabout nightclub has be named for the first time.
Tharel Thompson, who is a Barbados National, was on holiday and spending time with family in Reading.
In the early hours of Sunday, February 11, whilst out with family, Mr Thompson was attacked in the Walkabout bar.
Mr Thompson was rushed to hospital with stab wounds where he remains in a critical condition after undergoing two rounds of major surgery.
His mother Yvonne Thompson said they have been left with a £11,000 hospital bill.
In a GoFundMe post she wrote: “So far his medical bill stands at £11,000 and is ongoing, I have flown over from Barbados and am incurring hotel costs daily and rising.
“Any help would be so much appreciated and this is my last resort.”

Following the incident, police cordoned off the Reading town centre nightclub for several days.
A man has since appeared in court charged with attempted murder over the stabbing.
