He was convicted of intentional strangulation and assault occasioning actual bodily harm - and also pleaded guilty to one count of possessing an illegal knuckleduster.
On October 27, 2022, he launched a savage assault on a woman at an address in Padworth, strangling her with a phone cable he tore from the wall.
Weeks also made threats to kill his victim, who suffered visible injuries to her face and neck.
In addition to the jail sentence, the defendant has been made subject to a five-year restraining order.

His victim was arrested, and had to spend a night in jail as a consequence of Singh's lies.
CCTV subsequently revealed the attack could not possibly have taken place - and investigators learned that Singh had a history of making bizarre false claims to police.
