Journeys between Reading and London will soon be covered by the 'off-peak Fridays' scheme, entitling rail users to cheaper fares.
From March 8, users will be able to pay off-peak fares throughout Friday when travelling using contactless card facilities.
This is part of a three-month trial introduced to boost use of public transport, which has declined since the pandemic.
Peak hours on National Rail and Transport for London (TfL) services currently run between 6.30am and 9.30am, and between 4pm and 7pm.
In effect, these fares would be scrapped for rail users taking pay-as-you-go single journeys on Friday.
The trial will run until May 31.
More information is available on TfL's website.
