Emergency services rushed to Reading West Train station this morning (9/3) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
The incident was reported to the British Transport Police at around 9:34am on Saturday, March 9.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue and medics from the South Central Ambulance Service also attended the scene after it was reported.
The emergency vehicles were spotted by members of the public at the station whilst they were dealing with the incident on the tracks.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: "The British Transport Police were called to Reading West Station at around 9:34am this morning after reports of a casualty on the track.
"The emergency services attended the station and medics treated the injured man on the platform.
"The injured man has been left in the care of the ambulance service.”
Police have confirmed that the casualty is being treated as “unsuspicious”.
Following the incident, National Rail reported that there would be cancellations and delays on trains traveling from London Paddington to Newbury/Basingstoke.
A spokesperson for National Rail said: "Emergency services dealing with an incident between Reading and Newbury / Basingstoke means all lines are closed. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.”
Disruption is expected to continue until around 1pm.
