Investigations are underway into a tragic death in the multi-story car park at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Emergency services rushed to the multi-story car park on London Road at around 4:45pm on Wednesday, March 13.
Thames Valley Police reported that they were attending to a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle.
It has now been confirmed that a 58-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by a grey Mitsubishi Outlander.
Police have issued their condolences to the family who are currently being supported by speciality trained officers.
Senior investigating officer Detective Sergeant Tony Jenkins, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Tragically, a man has died following this collision and our thoughts are with his loved ones.
“I would ask for anyone who saw the collision to contact us.
“I would also ask any drivers with a dash-camera who were driving in the car park at the time to check their recordings and let us know if they have captured anything that could help our investigation.”
The Royal Berkshire Hospital has confirmed that they are working closely with Thames Valley Police during their investigations.
The multi-story car park has been reopened to the public.
