A READING rapist has been jailed for 16 years after sexually abusing a child for a decade.
Vlazimr Rybak, 63, of Oxford Road, appeared at Reading Crown Court where he was found guilty of multiple offences by a unanimous jury after a four-day trial.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Sophie Measham, of the child abuse investigation unit, said: “The victim in this case was a very young child and Rybak betrayed trust to commit these horrendous crimes.”
Following a police investigation in November 2020, Rybak was arrested on May 29, 2021 and charged with the offences on July 28, 2022.
Thames Valley Police has commended the bravery and courage of the young person to come forward.
Det Con Sophie Measham added: "He has been sentenced to a significant prison sentence as a result of his offending, and I hope that this offers some closure for the victim.
“I would also like to thank the Crown Prosecution Service for working with us to secure this conviction.”
