A very green annual event is returning to Woodley soon.
Keep Britain Tidy’s ninth Great British Spring Clean is back and Woodley Adopt a Street (WASP) is hosting a Clean Up Day on Saturday March 23.
Woodley's Clean Up Day is seen as a tradition in the area and occurs every year, encouraging local residents to get outside and help improve the local community through litter picking.
It is the perfect opportunity to get the family out and do our bit to improve the environment around us.
With consistent reports of fly-tipping in and around Reading, doing our bit to lessen this eye sore that many people within community find displeasing is really important.
Woodley Council recognises that events like this are crucial to reducing waste in the area and for promoting a green lifestyle.
The WASP team will be meeting at Woodford Park Leisure Centre, Haddon Drive, Woodley on Saturday 23 March, at 10am and welcome local residents to come and join them to lend a hand.
WASP asks volunteers to wear gloves, strong footwear and suitable clothing.
The team is also encouraging volunteers to bring along their own litter picker and Hi Vis, if they have them. Otherwise these can be provided while stocks last.
