School children have decorated their homes for a book trail in Whitley.
Geoffrey Field Junior School marked World Book Day by launching its first ever Trail where children decorated their houses with their favourite book characters and scenes, creating a magical story book trail through the area.
Among the decorated house themes were, Harry Potter, the Gruffalo, the Very Hungry Caterpillar and Superworm.
A spokesperson from the schools said: "We were so impressed with the children's creativity and efforts in decorating their houses.
"It really shows how much they care about and are inspired by the characters in their books."
The trail ran from February 19 to March 9 and was "extremely successful" with over 70 trail maps being sold and returned.
On the trail maps, children were able to vote for a winner of 'Best decorated house in Whitley.'
The winner was nine year old Tatiana who decorated her house with Goldilocks peeking into her living room where the three bears were eating porridge.
Tatiana won a winners certificate as well as a complete set of the "Land of Stories" books.
It is hoped that the trail will return next year.
