Reading could be one of the UK’s hottest property investment spots in 2024 according to local estate agents.

Average rental yields reached 5.55% in December 2023 according to Haslams, compared with prime London at 4.46% in December 2023 according to Maskell’s.

Rental values in Reading increased by an impressive 29% since 2021 and yet a premium property in the town costs up to 30% less than the average London home.

Reading is home to a secure and growing rental market with 32% of households renting privately, higher than the South East average of 19%.

The town is also positioned to outshine London’s sales market, anticipating a robust 3-5% price growth over the next five years.

In addition, Fdi Intelligence reported that Reading was the best European City for Business in 2023, and EY predicts the town will be the fastest-growing location in the country between 2024-2026.

What’s more, Reading was named one of the best places to work and live in 2022 and 2023.
