DEAR Editor,
Caversham Lakes used to be a haven for flora, fauna and breeding water birds in the Spring including the occasional rarity.
Many of us loved walking in the area and enjoying all of this without the need to get into the water or disturb the natural inhabitants.
Now it is just a mess. I do not imagine that the Chief Executive took this into account when he built and opened his ‘facility’ without the correct planning permissions.
Profit will have been his motive and it has backfired.
I have no sympathy for him at all (though some for those who enjoyed swimming there).
It is not the Council’s fault it is his entirely.
