Reading Borough Council have responded after a set of broken traffic lights caused a number of crashes on Rose Kiln Lane at a busy junction.
They have said that temporary traffic lights will be at the junction for 10 to 12 weeks before new traffic lights are installed in their place.
On Wednesday April 16 a member of the public posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the traffic lights on Rose Kiln Lane by the Matalan are currently not working.
This resulted in a car crash between three cars.
Reading Borough Council has subsequently said that temporary signals have been installed to remedy the problem.
A spokesperson for the council released the following statement:
"The issue with the traffic lights was identified and resolved on Tuesday morning.
"The temporary signals are expected to be in place for another 10-12 weeks, after which the permanent signals will be reinstated.
"Whilst the works to create further bus lanes are completed, there is also a 30mph speed limit through the area to increase safety."
Drivers are reminded to stay vigilant whilst using the junction.
