After previously being spotted in Bracknell and Caversham, a bizarre object is once again stumping drivers and pedestrians.
A mysterious yellow box has turned up on the side of one of Reading's busiest roads - Pell Street.
The long rectangular object is situated next to a power box on the left hand side of the street going down towards the bridge over the Kennet.
The box is pretty much empty inside bar the top of a green pipe poking from out the ground.
Previously residents of our town had taken to social media to debate what on earth the mystery yellow box was for.
Some people suggested that it could be a 'minion coffin' or a 'rave tent for mice.'
Lewis Huggins previously posted a photograph of the bizarre object in Caversham along with “Anyone know what this yellow thing is facing the last crumb? It’s empty at the moment but has an opening at both ends?”
Many took to the comment section of the post to share their suggestions on what they think the yellow box might be.
Another person suggested “With the state of the economy perhaps they are a new type of Studio Flat!” with another saying “I heard they are sunbeds for rabbits.”
It is believed that the mysterious yellow boxes are actually temporary covers for telecommunication (telco) cabinets that are part-way through being installed.
Each unit is located next to a junction box, usually maintained by BT and other telecommunications companies.
