EMERGENCY services were called to Reading town centre last night following reports of a woman being injured.
Four police vehicles and an ambulance rushed to St Mary's Butts on Saturday evening (May 4).
An eyewitness said a woman fell onto the church wall by the bus stop and hurt herself.
They said: "Door staff for the nearby Purple Turtle bar gave a police officer a first aid pack to help the injured person before the ambulance service turned up.
"Police handed the person into the care of the ambulance crew then took the person for treatment to the nearby Royal Berkshire Hospital Reading.
"We hope the person recovers very soon."
