Reading is set to have a host of road closures and works taking place this weekend – and people are being urged to check travel times before heading out.
The Westbound M4 between junction 11 for Reading and junction 12 for Theale will close at 21:00 BST on Friday, May 17 and reopen at 06:00 on Monday, May 20.
National Highways have said that the closure is to enable “vital works” to take place on the Burghfield Road Bridge.
Works include replacing the existing paint system and refurbishing the bridge bearings, to ensure it remains in a safe condition.
A diversion will be put in place during the weekend on the M4.
This will be the fifth weekend and overnight closures, with the work expected to be completed by the end of July.
Another area of road works that are taking place in Reading that may cause heavier traffic are the continued works on Bath Road.
