Passengers on a Great Western Railway train through Reading were shocked to see police rushing to the platform.

At 9:15pm on Monday, May 27, police officers were seen at Reading West railway station.

On approaching British Transport Police, a spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Reading West railway station at around 9.15pm yesterday (27 May) following reports of concern for welfare.

"Officers attended and a person was taken to a place of safety.”

Great Western Railway have declined to comment further.
