A scarecrow trail through a picturesque Berkshire village went down a treat at the weekend.

The quirky Sonning Scarecrow Trail wowed villagers and visitors on Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27.

From Barbie scarecrows to Minions, Lego and more, the trail-goers were given the option to buy a route map for £5 - with money going toward village amenities.

The event sees Sonning villagers come together to create an array of models, which are then presented on front lawns and even at the odd bus stop.

The event is held every two years and this year saw more than 50 scarecrows peppered around the village for families to hunt out along the trail.

Other elements of the event included a vintage car display and open gardens.

The winner of the competition has not yet been announced.
