A wine estate near Reading has been called "a hidden gem" by visitors.

Stanlake Park Wine Estate, in Waltham Road, Twyford, which is a short drive from Reading town centre, has received a number of good reviews despite not being among the county's most popular or well-known.

The estate holds weddings and visitors can book onto wine tours too.

On Tripadvisor, the winery has received a rating of 5 stars and won the Traveller's Choice Award in 2023 as a must place visit.

Stanlake Park Wine Estate has been producing wines since 1979, including English Sparkling wine, white, rose and red wine.

One person said: "We very much enjoyed our tour at Stanlake Park. Our guide, Tamsin, was very knowledgeable, engaging and fun. The tastings were generous and we would highly recommend the tour to others."

Another described the place as an "absolute gem", enjoying its beautiful setting with Charcuterie boards  on the menu too.
