A much-loved American style restaurant, located in the heart of Reading Town Centre, has closed its doors for good this week.
Located at The Oracle along the Riverside, TGI Fridays opened in 2015 joining the restaurant on Caversham Road.
The American restaurant chain focusing on primarily American cuisine and casual dining has become extremely popular across the world over the last few decades
On Monday, June 3, a sign was spotted outside the restaurant which is located between Cote Brasserie and the former Brown's restaurant.
This notice alerted customers that ‘This Restaurant is permanently closed’ and directed them to their Caversham Road venue.
This closure comes after the announcement that the restaurants' sister venue on Caversham Road will be knocked down to make way for flats.
The Caversham Road restaurant first opened in August 1989.
So, the question is, 'Will Reading be saying goodbye to the American diner chain for good, or will the opening of another venue be on the horizon?
We have contacted TGI Friday’s for a comment on the closures.
