Newbury Building Society officially opened their new-look branch in Thatcham last week, with Chief Executive Officer, Phillippa Cardno, cutting the ribbon.
The refurbishment, which was undertaken by specialist design firm Morgan Lovell, is the fourth in a series of planned improvements to the Society’s ten branches located throughout Berkshire, Hampshire, and Oxfordshire.
The updates reaffirm the Society’s commitment to in-person savings and mortgage support on the high street, ensuring customers have access to cash and trusted advice in the places they live and work.
Phillippa Cardno, Chief Executive, commented “We are extremely pleased to officially open our refurbished Thatcham branch, which provides a much needed in-person financial service to the local community. Whilst the branch has been extended and modernised, our commitment to providing excellent customer service remains unchanged.
"We know how vital face-to-face service is to our members, and our ‘bricks and clicks’ strategy demonstrates our commitment to providing customers with access to face-to-face services as well as the choice to interact with us digitally if that suits.
"In addition to the refurbishment, I am excited to announce that we will soon be launching a new initiative in Thatcham, in partnership with OneBanx (a GLORY company) which will provide better cash access in the town, as we are the only financial services provider on the high street."
The branch, which has been a fixture of Thatcham town centre since 1979, has been extended and modernised.
It now features a larger banking hall with extra seating, a sofa area, increased counter space and private rooms for customer appointments.
