Two youths are on trial accused of attempting to murder a boy in Caversham last summer.
The pair - who cannot be named for legal reasons - have been charged with attempted murder and wounding with intent.
Both deny the allegations.
The teenagers appeared before Reading Crown Court today (June 10), where a jury was empanelled.
They are set to stand trial over an incident which occurred in Hemdean Road the early hours of August 9, 2023.
On that day, a boy presented himself at hospital with two stab wounds.
Although seriously injured, his life was saved by emergency medical intervention.
The two youths standing trial were arrested in the aftermath of the stabbing.
Judge Heather Norton sent away the jury after they were sworn, with lawyers in the case set to formally open the trial tomorrow (June 11).
