An English film star and martial artist surprised punters with an unexpected visit to a well-known countryside pub this month.

Jason Statham, known for his roles in The Meg and Fast and the Furious, visited The New Inn in Heckfield following the filming of his latest production.

Tom Faulkner - the owner of the pub - snapped a picture as they caught up at the end of a hard day.

The team at the pub, located near Reading posted the picture on their social media as they reminisced on the celeb sightings through the years.

They said: “Jason and his fantastic production crew had been filming locally and to celebrate the end of the shoot, after working so hard, they descended on us for a few drinks. What a great evening it turned out to be. Great memories for everyone – cheers to you all.

“The whole evening reminded us of when none other than Muhammed Ali was a regular visitor to The New Inn back in the 70’s.

“Amazing stories from everyone and a night we’ll never forget.”

A member of the production team, Jenni McAnaw thanked the pub for their ‘five star care’ whilst staying at the pub during filming.

The Production company, Punch Palace Productions, is in the midst of their next two films that will take place over the next few years.

Levon's Trade, starring Jason Statham and directed by David Ayer, is set to be released in 2025.
