The Euros are fast approaching with many of us excitedly planning trips to our local for kick off tomorrow Friday June 14.

But how are pubs in Reading feeling about the start of the tournament?

Manager of Wild Lime Toni Patti said that the sports bar has loads of fun things planned whilst the footie is on, and hopes the atmosphere will be as great as it has been over the years.

"We will have a DJ on before the matches and during half time, when goals are scored also," Mr Patti said.

"We are doing food and the bar is currently decorated with all the different flags from each country. It should be really fun."

He said that customers are mainly excited about watching the first England game on Sunday June 16, but they will also be very busy for the Albania and Italy match on Saturday June 15.

"There are lots of people coming from both communities I think, Albanians and Italians," Mr Patti continued.

The popular sports bar has over ten TVs with every seat in house having a good view for each match.

When asked what he hopes Wild Lime will gain from streaming the Euros, Mr Patti replied that he's hoping for a great atmosphere, that it will bring cash in, and that there won't be too many fights.

Team Leader at The Outlook Lewie Spicer said that they also have lots planned for kick-off on Friday.

"We've got a brand-new menu for when the England game is on," he said. "Hotdogs, burgers, wings that sort of thing. We've also got beer towers for the tables too."

Mr Spicer said that the pub is already getting loads of bookings and encourages customers to book ahead so they are guaranteed a seat.

"Last time with the world cup there were loads of people, some were even standing, so it's definitely best to book ahead," he continued.

Assistant Manager at Market House Joe Geary said that the bar usually has to open up the roof terrace as it gets so busy during England games.

"We are showing all of the matches," he said. "We have TVs all over the place at will also have a few projectors. We are expecting a really good atmosphere."

Assistant Manager at O'Neil's Rob Pearman said that they will also be hosting a DJ during the matches.

"We have two floors open for it with lots of seating, but we still encourage customers to book. There's not a place in the pub where you would not be able to see," he said.
