TWO restaurants have been given new food hygiene ratings in Reading.
Mr Cod, at 155-161 Caversham Road, Reading was handed a four-out-of-five rating after an inspection on May 11.
And Noon Sweet and Savouries, at 429 Oxford Road, Reading was also given a score of four on May 11.
It means that of Reading's 179 takeaways with ratings, 82 (46 per cent) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
Food hygiene ratings, which range from 0 to 5, serve a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of food establishments in the United Kingdom.
They help consumers to make informed decisions when choosing where to eat, prioritising venues that adhere to strict hygiene criteria.
