A resident is being treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at a ground-floor flat in Reading.

Three fire engines attended New Bright Street around 10pm this evening (June 22).

This came after a fire was reported at a ground-floor flat.

The blaze was quickly brought under control, and a firefighter at the scene said nobody had been seriously injured.

However, one woman was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for comment.
