The Repair Café at Lambs Lane Primary School has benefited from a donation of wood from independent housebuilder Dandara, which will enable them to build up to 500 bird boxes for the local area.
The Repair Café at Lambs Lane Primary School is operated by a dedicated team of volunteers who run regular monthly sessions to repair broken household items in order to reduce landfill.
The non-profit group provides repair services for household items and run workshops to show young how to build their own birdboxes.
Thanks to the donation of wood offcuts, The Repair Café has been able continue its service to run free workshops aimed at local schools and youth groups, catering to children aged 8 - 13.
These workshops focus on teaching young people to build their own bird boxes, to take home or for use in schools or local woodlands.
The children are encouraged to learn about the importance of reusing waste materials.
