The head of a primary school in Calcot sent out a warning to parents after an elderly man was seen publicly touching himself in the area. 

Headteacher of Kennet Valley School Deirdre Devine sent out a message to parents and carers on Tuesday, June 9, warning them of a flasher near the premises. 

In an apparent letter to parents Ms Devine said that the man had been acting in a sexual manner on Burghfield Road and Appleton Road.

Police have since confirmed the incident, stating that a man in his 70s was reported to be seen acting indecently in public. 

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating an exposure incident in Reading.

“A man was seen touching himself inappropriately on Burghfield Road at around 7.50am on Tuesday (9/7).

“A 70-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency. He remains in police custody.
