Excitement is building for the final of the Euros tonight as England will face Spain.

From motorists adorning their cars with flags to the noise of horns beeping that familiar chant, the nation is in high spirits as the prospects of a win edge ever closer. 

In Reading and across the borough, thousands of sports fans are expected to watch the match - either from the comfort of their home or at one of the many pubs or venues showing the match. 

At Blue Collar Corner, on Hoiser Street, dozens of punters have already gathered to bagsy their table ahead of the imminent match. 

Antonia, from central Reading, told the Chronicle she was “buzzing” about the game. She said: “I’m buzzing mate! I am so excited it’s coming home and I love England”

In a display of optimism, she predicted: “England are gonna win it’s gonna be 2 - 1 to England.”

Others at the popular food and drink market were similarly hopeful about Gareth Southgate’s team’s chances. Dan from Lower Earley said: “I’m very excited! I’m nervous but Gareth is gonna bring it home.”

”It’s gonna be 2 - 3 to England. It’s coming home!”

Laura, from Burghfield, continued:  “I’m excited! I’m just happy to be here with all my friends.
